The Community Hub project is now entering a very exciting phase with work on significant parts of the project taking place. The Community Hub team will be issuing updates as work on St Leonard's and its surroundings starts and progresses. Check this page regularly for new information.
Thursday 9th January 2026
The transformation of St Leonard's Church into The Southoe Community Hub continues. The space is impressive and will lend itself to a wide variety of uses. When completed the Southoe Community Hub will have a fully accessible toilet and also a kitchen area for the preparation and serving of food and drinks.

Monday 4th August 2025
On Monday 4th August 2025 contractors will be in the churchyard digging the trench to lay ducting which will eventually bring the water, electric and phone lines in and the sewerage out of the building. This work will take approximately 2 to 3 days and although the road will NOT be closed there will be the contractors’ vehicles parked down by the church, Rectory Lane/High Street but there will still be access available to and from Rectory Lane.
